Privacy policy
Google Calendar for Omarchy is open-source software that shows your Google Calendar in the bar of the Omarchy Linux desktop. It runs entirely on your own computer.
Whose app is it?
Each person who uses this software creates their own private Google OAuth client, in their own Google Cloud account, and signs in with it. There is no central server and no shared app, and the author never receives your data or your login.
What data is used, and for what
- The software reads your calendars and events (titles, times, locations, reminders, meeting links and calendar colors) to show them on your desktop.
- It creates events only when you add one yourself.
- It does not delete or change existing events.
Where your data goes
- Calendar data travels only between your computer and Google's Calendar API.
- A short-term copy (about 7 days back and 45 days ahead) is cached on your own computer, in
~/.local/state/calsync/. Your sign-in token is stored by gcalcli in~/.local/share/gcalcli/, readable only by your user. - Nothing is sent to the author or any other third party. There is no analytics or tracking.
Removing access
Revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Uninstalling the software (install.sh --uninstall) and deleting the two folders above removes everything from your computer.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
